Hi,
Does your access point have DHCP feature?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have one Ubiquiti bullet and 3 Ubiquiti Power Station two units. They all use AirOS. I want to set up the bullet as an access point and the three power stations as clients. I have T1 with a fixed IP address at the AP site. What is the best configuration so that the three clients can share that bandwidth. I am a radio and database software guy with a little networking experiance but for some reason I seem to be having a mental block on this stuff. What seems to me to be the WAN side of the equation on the access point is maybe called LAN in the configuration software or something. Is there a white paper or good tutorial on this? Help!

It does have a DHCP mode but it is not clear if it will issue addresses to the wireless side or the wired side. It is confusing for me because there is a setup for WLAN which I am sure is wireless lan and one for LAN wich to me should be WAN on an access point. I tried to se the "LAN" side to the fixed IP address and the WLAN to DHCP and when a station connects on the wireless side it seems to aquire an IP address but doesn't seem to have be able to connect all the way through to the internet. Was hoping to find someone with experiance with the Ubiquiti equipment.

Was my question too confusing or maybe nobody is familiar with Ubiquiti AirOS? I guess my biggest question is: Will the access point in router mode issue IP addresses to the client stations or do I need a DHCP serving device between my fixed IP and the wireless access point? Where do the client stations get their IP addresses?
