Asked by robert_raw in Mac Airport Wireless Access Point, Networking Hardware for Macintosh, Network Routers
Hi,
I am about to acquire an Apple Airport Extreme and have been asked to set it up in a similar fashion to a DSL router.
I have an SDSL connectionwith a range of static IP addresses with a Cisco router that passes through all traffic, I can then connect my normal draytek routers to the Cisco and assign them with static IP addresses and them use them to port forward etc.
My question is, is it possible for the Airport Extreme to work in the same fashion to have a public facing static IP address with its firewall protecting the internal network from the internet and setting up port forwarding?
Does anyone have any instructions on setting them up in similar scenarios as the level of support on the Apple website is really poor and i want to make sure it is possible to achieve before i take on the job
Thanks
