Parallels 3.0 networking problems when using wireless

I have a macbook running OS X and Parallels 3.0. The network never works well in parallels. I noticed when I join a network that has 10.8.5.x IP range the network stops working all together. I need to use Parallels most of the time as we have an application that only works in Windows. I have also lost the sound in Parallels - which was working fine 3 days ago. Please help. I do not wish to re-install anything if I can avoid it.
