How do I set up multiple simultaneous network connections on my Mac?

Asked by IdleFire in Apple Networking, Networking Hardware for Macintosh, Mac Airport Wireless Access Point

Tags: Mac, multiple, network connections, simultaneous

I'd like to have my Mac connect to a 3G network for web traffic, however I'd like it to also connect to an internal AirPort network for connections to local servers. How can I route traffic inside my Mac easily? Also, is there a way to do this application-by-application?
