I put a password on the above printserver, and now it does not respond to the router.
How can I reset or flush the password on this printserver, so it can respond back to the wireless router?

ps:here is the background why this happened and why i am where i am:
I chose the WPA2-Personal encryption option to sync up my router(Wireless-G Access Point WAP54G ) and printserver (Linksys Wireless-G PrintServer WPS54G). I put the passphrase in the router and I thought I will put the same in the printserver without conversion. But I was not able to login into the printserver box(because apparently it does not have the password/passphrase as the router. So I went back into the router, and disabled wireless security in the router. Now I was able to go into the printserver.
So I thought I will put the WPA2-Personal passphrase/password there in the printserver, and then go to the router, and put the same there also. The printserver took my passphrase ok. Then I went to the router, and put the same password/passphrase. But the printer was not responding now. So I wanted to go back and disable the wireless security to think about the next phase of action, but now it will not allow me to go into printserver box. I was able to go into the router, and disable the security there. But alas, the printserver will not allow me in.
I guess my next action step is to somehow disable the wireless security. But how? And after that, my next action step will be make the router and printserver talk back and forth with a common password.
The option on the printserver are 64 bit keys, 128 bit keys, WPA Personal, WPA2 Personal.
The options on the router are WEP, WPA Personal, WPA2 Personal,WPA2 Mixed, WPA Entrprise & Radius & of course 'disabled'.
so seems like i have to choose between WPA Personal or WPA2 Personal.

are you saying this resets the login password. But I need to change the encryption password.
I already hit the reset button for 15 seconds. It printed a summary page right away. Is that proof that it has been reset to factory settings.
For the main issue I am facing I was going to try to use the cable to connect the router and printserver, and try to reset the encryption password.

That resets everything to factory defaults.

If it prints a page it should mean you did not remove the power before pressing Reset.
1) unplug power from printserver
2) press and hold Reset button
3) restore power and continue holding in Reset button at least 10 seconds
4) release the Reset button
I believe the power LED on top will blink at least once when the reset actually occurs, which usually happens within 10 seconds after reapplying the power.
When reset, it will want to get an IP via DHCP by default, so it may not have the same address it had before being reset. I like to either assign a static address or reserve an address for the print server's MAC address in the DHCP server, which makes it easier to setup across the network (though XP/vista/Win7 do a pretty-good job of finding them again if the IP changes, not all OS's do so). I think the setup wizard and the Bi-Admin program look for it with netbios and/or SNMP.
If you follow steps 1-4 above and it prints a page instead of resetting, there's something wrong with the printserver.

If it brings the IP back to 0.0.0.0, does that mean it has sucessfully reset it?
Assuming so, I went ahead with the wizard, and when it came to IP Settings (Step 9), It asks if I want to assign IP Config manually, or automatically obtain one. If I choose 'automatic' route, it eventually fails. If I choose assign manually, it complains the following:
"IP Address of your computer is not in the same LAN Segment with the wireless-G printserver"
The IP Address of the computer server is192.168.2.x and the router is 182.168.2.y and I assigned the IP of the Print Server as 192.168.2.z, but that is when it complains as the above.
Any thoughts?

That sounds like an access point, not a router. Most APs don't have DHCP servers built in (D-Link DWL's do, but I cannot think of any others, offhand). Routers by definition connect 2 different networks, ergo they must have at least 2 interfaces.

Well, it should fetch an IP through the switch just fine if it can hear the response from the DHCP server. When you're ready to try again, just unplug the printserver's power then plug it back in... when the printserver finishes booting back up it should repeat the request for an address. If it was powered up more than 15 seconds or so before being connected to the switch it had probably already requested an address but nothing heard the broadcast because it wasn't connected to the network at the time it made the request.

You are right. it is an AP.
but the switch should give the IP to the printserver.
The printserver gets an IP Address ok, but unless the wizard goes through fine, it is not properly registered. and the wizard does not go through. It gets stuck in the point of ""IP Address of your computer is not in the same LAN Segment with the wireless-G printserver"
When it asks for the domain name 'should it be just a default 'domain' or should it say the name of the local network?

Once it reset the printserver, it started getting a proper IP, again.
Now I am back to the point where I need to set a proper encryption password.
The Printserver installation wizard suggests I can only use a 64 or 128 bit WEP. I saw 2 more options in the printserver console (WPA and WPA2).
I hope it will be straightforward to put in a 10 digit password for a 64 bit WEP.
Would this ok?

The last time I tried to set the WPA password is when I lost it. It was not able to connect wirelessly to the AP because, apparently, at that time, the WPA TKIP was not accepted or did not go well.
Should I try this time with a cable connected from the switch, to make sure I do not lose the connection/settings at any cost.

Yes, if that's how you prefer to do it.
Or, set the WPA/TKIP passphrase in the print server wirelessly, then setup that same WPA/TKIP passphrase in the AP... at that point you will also need to enter that WPA/TKIP passphrase in ALL wireless devices that are expected to connect to the AP.

Remove the power to the print server. Just pulling the adapter plug from the back is fine.
While holding the Reset button depressed, plug the power back in.
Continue holding in the Reset switch for at least 10 seconds after reapplying power.
Some of the LEDs on the front will flash when it actually resets, but it should definitely happen within 15 seconds... usually it happens in less than 10 seconds.
