Home wireless network speed always changed

Zones: 802.11 Wireless Access Points, Wireless Networking, Wireless Network Access Points

Hi,
I have a linksys wireless router: wrt54g. I just bought a Airelink 101 wireless PCI N adapter and intalled it on one of my desktop located at my living room.

After I finish all my configuration & installation, the wireless netowrk connection speed always changes on my desktop: sometime 54mb, 48, 36, 24, and even 1 or 2 Mbps.

Is anyone know why and how can I make it stay at 54mb only? I have enable wireless MAC fileter in my router.
