Yes, you are right. it should be handled with bcm43xx driver in Linux.
In Linux see also 'dmesg | grep bcm' to define is your card recognized on boot or not. Even if recognized it might not work because of firmware, that was not loaded.

As an alternative here is described 'ndiswrapper' method to make this card work: http://ssergejev.blogspot.
You may use windows drivers there. In BackTrack 'ndiswrapper' tools are already installed, just try to use, if you prefer this method.

At least USB dongle should work with rt2570 driver: http://backtrack.offensive
If you see it with 'ifconfig -a' or with 'iwconfig', it's recognized.
