Router issue - Wireless network card keeps comming back with a 255.255.0.0 ip

Asked by worded in Wireless Network Cards & Adapters, Wireless Local Area Network

Laptop 1: cleints
Router 1 - zyzel - reset the router 1 to factory defaults.

Laptop 1 - When I tried to connect endlessly by wireless it comes back with a  255.255.0.0. in its ip.  (it connects wired fine / so it not the IP stack etc)

My own laptop connects wirelessly fine to this router 1 - so suspect is the laptop 1 - perhaps wireless card itself I thought.

- so I bring it back to base and it connects fine to my wireless router 2!  (netopia)

It seems Laptop1 wireless card hates Router 1 - yet I can connect to it no problem to Router 1.

Go figure.
