The HP 6503b has an option in the bios called Wan/Lan switching. By default it is disabled. If you enable it then anytime a network cable is plugged into the computer or the docking station the wireless will turn off.

I found how to do this using windows hardware profile but would like this function to happen without the need of rebooting. Using a Dell Latitude E4300 and HP Compaq 6530b laptops.

using your fn key and a designated wireless key you should be able to do that quite easy.
The fn key will have fn written in blue in the bottom left of your keyboard. Then somewhere (probably around the numbers) on your keyboard there should be another key with a blue dot with 3 waves coming out of the dot. That is your wireless on off key. Just hold fn then push the wireless key.
Hope that works !

I'm assuming you have an ethernet port connected to a network on the dock...
See if you have an option in your wireless card's configuration like the one 5 spots above the option selected in the attached screen grab (Disable Upon Wired Connect).
To get to that, do Start->Run, NCPA.CPL [Enter]
Right-click the wireless adapter and choose Properties.
Click the Configure button next to (or just under) the adapter name at the top of the dialog that opens.
Choose the Adv or Advanced tab.
