Linksys APs have got the same MAC Address after resetting

I have noticed a strange thing, while working on Linksys Access Points WAP54G, the MAC Address as printed and found on the APs all got reset to 00:90:4c:91:00:01

How is this possible and happening and not only on one but I have noticed it on 3 of the APs that after resetting it more than 3 times lead to this strange change of MAC address.

Is there any solution for recovering the actual MAC address on these APs?

Can you login to them using the web login?

Are they all set to clone MAC of your routers outside interface?

The first half of the MAC address is the manufacturer. In your case this is 00:90:4c
If you go here, you can lookup this MAC addr:

epigram, inc. which was bought out by Broadcom so I'm guessing this is the manufacturer of you Internet provider router/cable modem.

Cloning the MAC is usually done on a router's WAN interface; AP's don't really have a WAN interface - only LAN.

If giving them a hard-reset (http://www.experts-exchange.com/viewArticle.jsp?aid=373) does not restore the original MAC address (as printed on the bottom), are we getting the whole story...  e.g. have these units had 3rd party firmware installed previously?

What version are these WAP's, by the way?
The barcode sticker on the bottom is the only place that info is shown. See attached.
