I have a cable modem internet connection working at home. Because it has 1 ethernet port so i can't use the same conenction on more than one PC. I got BT wireless + ethernet hub to connect with cable modem so that i can share internet connection at home on all PCs at home.
When i connected BT 2700 HUB to my cable modem, my internet conenction does not work. Do i need to do some configuration or what is the correct way to do this?
How can i share my internet connection over cable modem, I want to do wireless connectivity at home on all PCs.
I think what you will be looking for is a router not a hub. But this depends on the kind of Modem that you have. Most people want to use a router because it adds a NAT to your network.... fancy way of saying another line of security. I would recommend that you take your hub back to the store and exchange it for a router.
If it does NAT you should be ok. It would be a setting in However, I would say a Linksys will do what you need for less cost and easier management. It should be as easy as plugging it in.
actually, it is not working (BT wireless hub) although it does natting but it is doing on internal interface because i have plugged this to cable router.
I would keen to know the model of Linksys as you mentioned. Probably i need wireless cable router.
