Thanks static,
I should add, the neighbour is exceptionally helpful - mostly because they are a related company - and I also assist them with admin stuff.
Anyway, looking around, and making sure I get what you are talking about, it appears that I need one of these;

On our end, and say one of these on the other end with the internet line;

Configure the wireless router on the internet line per normal, then get the bridge setup on our end and connect it to the WLAN
Am I getting it?

you want a wireless bridge, theres products out there specifically for this, my experience of trying to do stuff like this has been almost entirely negative but its deff doable from a technical perspective. my reccomendation would be to use a wireless bridge and a gateway, firewall/router i use smoothwall but you could also use a hardware device. the adition of a gateway will improve the stability of the network as you wont have to rely on your neighbors for anything but internet access
