Unfortunatly, the office is downstairs...no hubs/switches/routers downstairs...
Any way to do this without having to buy new equipement or do some internal wiring?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI just recently bought a Canon MX850 printer. I was able to get it set up to print through my Linksys printserver. HOWEVER...I can not get the canon software to recognize that it there.
The only way I was able to get it working was through control panel/add printer.
I really want to use the scan to computer functionality of this printer, but cannot figure out how to do it with the Linksys printserver in the middle. System setup right now:
Linksys WRTS54g2 wireless router upstairs
--Computer-downstairs
--WPS54G-downstairs
++++Pixma MX850-downstairs (across room from computer)
Any thoughts?
If you need more info please let me know. I will be checking most of the evening trying to get this working.
Thanks
Ed

This is a network printer, so don't connect it through a printserver, connect it straight to your router. Install it to a standard tcp/ip port.
