Yes I have. I have hardware version 4.0 and when I select that version there is no driver just 3 documents - User Guide, Quick Installation and data Sheet.
https://sites.google.com/site/linksysupdateddrivers/rt2500/driver/download
And the download link points to
https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B-qTx1THTwN8MTU2NThiMDMtZTQ1ZS00Mjk1LThmODMtOTI0Y2RkMjhhMjU4&export=download
Which says the 28MB zip file's too large for their virus scanner
The Download Anyway button points to
https://doc-0o-b0-docs.googleusercontent.com/docs/securesc/1uktnr7nuaio05vqo364on7p53ski71j/1paoifkueaahovs51hgh6n86b5h4ogrs/1390341600000/12568519609471138931/02109007207135726925/0B-qTx1THTwN8MTU2NThiMDMtZTQ1ZS00Mjk1LThmODMtOTI0Y2RkMjhhMjU4?e=download&h=16653014193614665626&nonce=922ol95udd3qs&user=02109007207135726925&hash=ln7mtv2od2072u8du1r5tm0c6nngiede
If you can't fetch it, let us know and I'll see if I can post here the copy I downloaded.
Unfortunately, all the drivers are contained in the installer's 27MB cab file, so I can't post just the XP/2000 drivers you need.

After connecting the cable, downloading it from
https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B-qTx1THTwN8MTU2NThiMDMtZTQ1ZS00Mjk1LThmODMtOTI0Y2RkMjhhMjU4&export=download
then installing it would have worked, too (instead of downloading it on another machine, putting it on a USB stick and installing from that).

I didn't have to go to any web sites - Windows found the drivers online automatically.

What I did solved the problem.
