OK, the drivers did not properly install. Try to redownload the drivers and reinstall them. Reboot the computer and let me know what happens then.
http://www.driverstock.com
Drivers here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/
But I would recommend going to the Acer site - and downloading and installing their's:
http://www.acerpanam.com/f
Okay - remove any ghosted-out drivers: (this may remove an old driver causing a conflict)
http://support.microsoft.c
Uninstall any realtek-related drivers as well from device manager.
Reboot - then reinstall your drivers.
when i uninstall these drivers, i get an uninstall failure.. but i see the Realtek Directory under Program Files disappear. But when i search the registry i see a lot of places where RealTek Audio is mentioned.. Shud i do a cleanup or something of that sort.. Because almost all installations have failed... And all uninstallations too .. :(
My suggestion, in the device manager, right click on the two yellow question marks and select Uninstall. This should remove the devices (not the drivers) from your system. Then reboot the computer and Windows will detect the new hardware. Do not click anything on the prompts yet. With the driver that I pointed you to, intsall the driver, and when completed select "Do not connect to the internet" on the driver prompt, then click on "Install automatically". See what happens then.
Make a backup of your registry:
http://support.microsoft.c
Then search for and delete any sign of "Realtek". (before you do that - have you got Realtek LAN drivers on this model?)
Then manually remove any entries pointing to realtek drivers:
http://support.microsoft.c
Then delete any sign of Realtek from C:\Program Files - and C:\Windows\system32\driver
Restart - and reinstall your drivers manually - do not run the setup file(s) - extract the inf and sys files using WinRAR, put them in a folder together - and use Device Manager to install the drivers manually - by pointing the wizard to the folder that you created previously.
This is the link you require:http://www.realtek

>restart the PC n den install da drivers downloaded from the acer website
Since you re intsalled XP,there is no data saved on your pc.I would advise 2 do another fresh install of XPand then try the drivers from the realtek website. Since you have tried nearly 15 differnt versions of drivers, i have a feeling dat you have too many software conflicts and thats why da setup is booting you out.Try from scratch again.

Where did you get the driver from?
Right click on My Computer and select Manage
Select Device Manager
Do you see any yellow question marks?
