Is my flash memory infected?

Hi all.
I have gotten a problem. I had a 16 GB flash memory, and I used to have programs and my stuff on it, but before about an hour from now, I connected it to my computer, but I found the folders I used to have, became files, 8 KB each, and with no extension. But in the properties, it says that it is filled as much as it was before it had a failure.
