How to determine the IP Address of a WAP54G while it's using DHCP?

Is there any way to determine the IP Address assigned to a Linksys WAP54G after configuring it to get its IP Address via DHCP?

Hi owlsnet,

What ip do you want to get ? The WAN ip ?

If so go to routers admin page and see the ip, or can check the public ip of your connection here : http://checkip.dyndns.org/

Hi Miguel,

As far as I know, there is only one IP address assigned to a Linksys Wireless Access Point WAP54G.  It's LAN Address.  I am looking for a way to determine it's DHCP assigned IP Address(LAN) so I can use that address to go to it's admin page using Internet Explorer.

how about using network stumbler or air snare. One or the other can identify addresses of AP's
owlsnet,

When you are hooked up to it go to start>run type in    cmd     and hit ok> then type ipconfig /all

You should see the info you want.
oops, be sure to hit return after you type ipconfig /all at the command prompt.
When you run ipconfig /all like tim said, the gateway ip would normally the AP's address.

Otherwise check it's manual. If you didn't configure it for another than the standard range it is set for, the ip should be noted there, or reset it to factory defaults and follow the manuals instructions on how to set your PC's IP and connect to the AP.
HI owlsnet,

The linksys router only gets a new ip from the wan (broadband / dial-up / cable / etc.), in the lan site it's always a static ip. (192.168.xxx.xxx for example).

Thank you all for your comments and assistance.  Please keep in mind that this device is a WAP54G Access Point and not a Router.  I have configured this device to get it's IP Address via DHCP because it will be used with a traveling wireless laptop lab for training at multiple subnets on our network.

Sorry, but ipconfig /all will not help because it will show the network Gateway router not the WAP IP Address.

I think sparkmaker has provided me with a possible answer and have now installed Network Stumbler on one of the Laptops.  I see that Network Stumbler is detecting my Access Point, but the IP Address column is empty.

Is there a way to get Network Stumbler to report the IP Address the Access Points it finds?

An AP usually has a WAN and one or more LAN connections. You just need to connect to the network via the LAN interface, turn the internal DHCP server off and the wireless clients will get the ip from your standard dhcp server of your LAN. Just don't use the WAN connection.

Yes - of course!  The information can be located on the DHCP server.  I looked and it was there!  Thank you all once again for your help, but especially to tim_qui for his simple and very effective solution.
