Microsoft Mouse - Assign Function to Horizontal Scroll Wheel

I have a wireless laser mouse 7000 and it has the horizontal scroll function, but I wanted to see if I could somehow assign functions to that, so that when I hit the scroll wheel to the left it performs a copy function and when I hit it to the right, it pastes.

I know with the Logitech mice/software you can do it.

You need to download the latest Intellipoint software at:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=MK

to start with.  Then we'll lookup what functions can be defined.

Yes I have the Intellipoint software installed/download (latest version).

This does NOT seem to be a feature in Microsot and wanted to see if any third-party will do it. This is, again NOT a normal feature. The logitech mice have it, when you push the wheel horizontally.

I just noticed at this link there is a note about an updated horizontal scrolling function.  It's mentioned in the first paragraph.  Check it out:

Hopefully they will have added the horizontal scrolling as an option that is configurable.
