Do you have a PS2 keyboard? Also some USB keyboard have certain keys that need windows to operate. You can try a different USB keyboard in different USB slots.
Also have you tried to shut down your computer and pull the plug for 5 mins?
Are you getting this message after you machine sleeps? If so you can turn off hibernation under control panel and power settings. You should see a hibernation check to disable. How much hard drive space do you have left?

your error can be caused by a dying drive, so i suggest to run a diag on it, to know it's status

note that it could be caused by bad ram - but you can test the ram from the ubcd too; run memtest86+ for a full pass !
