You should use Adobe Acrobat Reader and PostScript printer drivers. PDF files are created in PostScript format so PS drivers will minimize the print file size and resolve the PCL XL errors (this error occurs when you use PCL drivers to print PS files).

If you have HP 2100M or 2100TN model, you already have the PS module in the printer - all you have to do is install the PS drivers. I'm assuming you have the HP2100 base model, so you have to order the accessory (part number C3098A) which includes 4MB RAM memory.
