We're having difficulty printing PDF documents via out to our network printer. We print using Qview software via Novell network (3.12). When a document spools through documents are displayed with file sizes larger than normal (ie a three page file can display a file in excess of 5 MB). On trying to print, the printer(HP 2100) will often crash and print out a PCL XL error message. We usually have to re-sent the print job again and reboot. In many cases we have to abandon the print job as it will not print.
Has any one any ideas on how to fix the problem? We've tried upgrading Adobe Acrobat reader to 4.05 and are considering installing more RAM printer memory - the default printer MB is 4MB.

You should use Adobe Acrobat Reader and PostScript printer drivers. PDF files are created in PostScript format so PS drivers will minimize the print file size and resolve the PCL XL errors (this error occurs when you use PCL drivers to print PS files).
If you have HP 2100M or 2100TN model, you already have the PS module in the printer - all you have to do is install the PS drivers. I'm assuming you have the HP2100 base model, so you have to order the accessory (part number C3098A) which includes 4MB RAM memory.
