Cannot print from MS-DOS program

We were using an HP6L printer that was attached to LPT1 via a parallel cable.   The 6L finally bit the dust, so we bought an HP1200 which now uses the USB connection.  When we connected the printer, there was no problem printing in Windows, etc.  However, when we tried to print through the DOS Based program, it wouldn't print.  Our DOS program allows the user to configure either LPT1,LPT2 or LPT3 ports for printing.  Since the new printer now uses the DOT port, our program does not recognize this port setting. And there is no way to configure it.  So, my question is this.  How can we change the DOT port setting to LPT1?  OR, Since we only have three port settings in our program (LPT1,2 or 3), how can we get the program to print through the DOT port. We are using Windows XP operating system.     Start Free Trial
