Print Spooler Despooled

I have a user running Windows Vista Business Edition 32bit. The user has a LJ 1018 and everytime he tries to print a scanned PDF document over 500K, the print spooler stops.

I have downloaded the latest print driver from the HP site v.20071210 and still the same issue.

I have another user with a 1018 and windows Xp SP3 and the issue does not exist with opening the exact same file.

I have tried the HP chat support and they are useless.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what can cause this or has anyone experienced the same issue?
