Browse All TopicsI have a networked user who is unable to print to a networked HP 2600n printer.
The print jobs get sent and everything on the computer side looks correct, but the jobs never reach the printer. She can print to other printers, but not this one. Other users can print to this 2600n without problem.
I've restart the print que and updated all print drivers, but the problem remains. Any help?

also clean your registry.
http://www.ccleaner.com/ is a reliable freeware.
just the problem machine..
ccleaner will take care of removing orphan spool entries from the registry
there is a spooler service in windows that takes information from the printer driver and converts your user files (DOC, PDF, JPG, etc) into printer understandable language. if there are conflicting entries, it causes unpredictable errors.

you cant, it will scan the registry looking for orphaned / obsolete and redundant entries.
then it will present you with a long list of entries that can be safely deleted.
it WILL backup your entire registry, and move the deleted data to a .REG file so you are quite safe
if anything goes wrong, you can boot up in safe mode and add the backed up .REG file back to the registry, and you are back to normal.
The LaserJet 2600n printer is a 'host-based' device, so you can't use a PCL5 or PCL6 driver - you have to use the appropriate host-based driver.
I don't believe that HP support use of such devices via print servers (although some people appear to have had some measure of success by disabling 'bi-directional communication'); you should be able to use the device by setting the printer instance up, on each client workstation, to print direct to the TCP/IP port (rather than via a server).
