The application needs to know the size of the form used in the printer, i.e. the distance between the tear-offs. With Windows applications, you would usually set that in Page Setup (or something similar), but you could start by setting that as the default paper size (in printer Properties > Advanced tab > Printing Defaults). If you use a DOS application, only someone who knows that application can tell you how to do it.
