Is it possible to network the Scanner on HP CM1312 MFP

We currently have a HP CM1312 MFP hooked up to a d-link print server, the printing function works fine but no one can add the scanner, is it possible to network the scanner? Is there a work around if you cant?

No, you can't share this scanner.
You should use a third party tools like RemoteScan : http://www.remote-scan.com/

see the problem i am having is that the printer/scanner is on a print server and the above programs want to network it from my pc, aint gonna happen, i need to be able to share it via the print server.
Suggestions?

According to http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06a/18972-18972-238444-12004-3328086-3558902.html
the CM1312 comes with a RJ45 network port built in, so you shouldn't need a print server to share it...  you should be able to connect it to the same network the print server connects to, then just install the HP software on the computers you want to use the scanner, if their current TWAIN drivers won't run it.

Possibly it has a soft plug covering the network port?

there is a flat piece of metal where the port hole should be, the picture of the port is under neith it but no actual port.

I'd get in touch with HP and ask if there is an optional NIC you can add to get it networking.
