I am having problems with HP Laserjet P1505n Printing via a desktop application thru Citrix XenApp 4.5 Enterprise Edition on a windows Server 2003 box.
I have a variety of HP printers and the P1505n are the only ones giving me problems. Originally if I installed the PCL 5 printer drivers for the P1505n the job would spool, but never print. I uninstalled the driver and just had it auto-create the printer using the Citrix UPD. That was (and still is) working in most sites.
I recently installed another P1505n at a different location. That printer is shared locally at the location and they can print from anywhere on that network. If they connect to the desktop application via Citrix everything they print comes out with a single line of wingdings across the top and then the rest of the page. It spits out multiple pages of this until you delete the job.
I had read that Citrix UPD do not play nice with the HP laserjet P1505n and that you need to use the HP UPD. I downloaded and installed the PCL 5 HP UPD, mapped the printer driver for HP Laserjet P1505n to the PCL 5 HP UPD. When I did this, all of the HP Laserjet P1505ns connected all stopped working properly. All text in the document is replaced by wingdings.
I unmapped the print driver and all other printers worked again, but this site went back to the original behavior of 1 line of garbage at the top of the page.
I have updated the Citrix Client software with the latest from the Citrix website and the machines are running win XP with SP3. All of the printer drivers are the current ones listed on the HP website.
Any ideas?
