I have it on normal quality. Would the print quality effect the orientation of which way the document gets printed?

Browse All TopicsI have several network attached HP LaserJet 4250n printers in a Windows 2003 Domain that will not print Excel spreadsheets in landscape mode. I have gone to these printer settings.
Right-click the printer for which you want to set the default printing
preferences, and then click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, click Printing Defaults.
Click the Basics tab and and select Landscape orientation.
The current drivers that we are using are the HP LaserJet 4250 PCL6. We have been experimenting with different drivers, all with basically the same results.

Yes, it could. Quality settings can effect the general settings of the printer, I've seen it happen in hp laserjets, specifically the 4050pcl6.
Is the problem that it won't print landscape by default, or won't print landscape at all? I don't want to sound condescending, but have you tried changing the settings in Print Setup to Landscape for a single job?
I just realized... have you tried printing the landscaped excel files from OpenOffice Calc? If I can reproduce the old error on my printer later today, I'll try it myself, just can't do it now.
I'm sure you know, but just in case : http://www.openoffice.org/
