Unfortunately, the 890C is a discontonued product (has been for a few years, I imagine).
If all that you have said above is everthing you have done to find a solution, then the only thing left to do (aside from what WhiteLotus has suggested, above) is to bring it into an authorized service center to see if anything is blocking the inkjet's spray nozzles from getting their ink to the printer's mechanisms designed to spray the 4 colours (magenta, yellow, blue, black) onto the media (paper).
For the cost this would involve, it would nmake more sense to get a new printer, unless you are sentimentally tied to the 890C <smile>.

you may have an hardware problem.
the easiest is to
Ask someone else to test your printer on windows 2000/XP.
if it does the same you may think of buying a new printer.
