In general this error will mean the ribbon is not in view or contact with the ribbon sensor of the printer involved.
Make sure the ribbon is threaded properly and is on the left side where the sensor is located. Blow dust or scraps away from sensor. If you are not using a ribbon then the DIP switch has been set to sense a ribbon and needs to be put back to off.
