This didn't work for me at all !
I called HP and they said this is how to reset the NIC on a CLJ2550n:
1. With the printer in "ready"-mode, press both "rotate color" and "cancel"-buttons at the same time
2. The printer is resetting the NIC for DHCP-operation!
I have tested this and it works!

To print a configuration page, press the GO and CANCEL buttons simultaneously. The default IP address is set by a DHCP server. Unless your network runs DHCP, the printer will not have an address. If the config page shows 0.0.0.0 or 169.254.x.x that implies no DHCP server was found.
If the printer has been given a fixed address, but on a different subnet from your PC, you won't be able to talk to it. In that case, start by doing a cold reset, as follows:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press and hold (Go).
3. Turn the printer on and continue to hold (Go) for at least 10 seconds, but for fewer than 20 seconds.
After this the printer will again try to use DHCP. If you don't use DHCP, you can use the HP JetDirect utility to assign it a suitable address.
