I finally solved the issue myself. It turns out that the UPS (uninterrupted power supply) was going bad and each time I hit the print button, it was causing a surge that was rebooting the 2 computers attached to the UPS. I took the UPS out of the picture and have not had one printer/rebooting problem since. I learn something new every day!
Thanks for your suggestions though.

That is a strange problem. Here are my suggestions at this time:
g/software /cleanup/) . Run Cleanup. Then run CCleaner's registry cleaner. Reboot. Download the latest drivers from Brother (or not, if you saved them when you reinstalled previously). Install the printer as per manufacturer directions (some have you install software and then hook up printer when prompted, others will have you hook up printer and direct it to your driver folder). Reboot and see if it resolves your issue.
com/kb/308 427) and see if you can pinpoint the error you get when pc reboots.
technet/sy sinternals / Processes AndThreads /processmo nitor.mspx ) to monitor your system and get a better idea of what's happening when it reboots.
This is a method I've used that does a pretty good job of taking care of assorted printing issues. Uninstall the printer. Power it off and disconnect it (unplug both the power cord and the USB connection). Reboot the pc. Download and install CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com) and Cleanup (http://www.stevengould.or
If not, take a look at your error logs (http://support.microsoft.
You could also try a program like Process Monitor (http://www.microsoft.com/
Hope this helps.
