What causes darker, slightly blurred lines of print every 5 lines

Print quality on my Canon MP600 just started to be a problem.  Every fifth line of text is darker and a bit more blurry.   Looks like every 5th line of text was done bold.  Even true for the Windows test page.

I've done auto head alignment, and checked the nozzles.  Everything is OK.
