can't install HP digital copier 610, missing IEEE 1284.4 drivers

This copier/scanner/printer will not install to a specific laptop. I tried to install it to a different one for testing purposes and it installed without incident. However, on this particular laptop, I keep getting an error message from the New Hardware Wizard: The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software. The wizard is looking for "Generic IEEE 1284.4 printing support." Please advise.Start Free Trial
