I have a printer with a internal static IP address on a users home LAN. What would be a good way to get make that printer accessible to users at the office (different location)
1 - I do not want to use a VPN solution
2 - the user wants the printer to be accesible to the internet basically. Is there any software out there that could handle this?
3 - Presntly the printer location does not have a static public IP.
The goal is for the office administrator to be able to print directly to the remote printer.

Windows Server can do IPP, Internet Printing Protocol. It's really not that safe, but it will work.
i am not sure if Windows XP can do it, but you should be able to setup IPP do get this done.
But really, if this is an office to home setup, i wouldn't even think about doing anything other than a VPN for security reasons. No matter how much the user dislikes the extra mouse clicks to get it done, it's not her ass that will be fired/sued when data is stolen because of the setup. Any particular reason you don't want to use a VPN?
