Tried it. No luck.

After some research the only resolution it looks like is to find and older version of the software Version 3. So, far I have tried deleting the some registry keys and clean re-install. Any more suggestions??

This has been an issue for quite a while - really can't believe HP hasn't resolved it. The last suggestion I have is to contact HP and have them give you ftp access to download version 3. This link is an ongoing saga of this issue at HP:

Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be one of those easily fixed things. CCleaner is typically my first recommendation with these kind of issues (it was nice to see it worked on one post in the forum). About the only things I see in the thread that actually worked (besides CCleaner) was a fresh XP install (which should be a very last resort), install from the original CD, or getting ftp access for version 3.

Give this a try:
Uninstall the HP software. Disconnect the printer from the laptop. Reboot. Download and install CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com). Open CCleaner and run both its cleanup function and registry cleaner (scan for issues). This is a gently registry cleaner and you can safely delete anything it finds (although have it backup changes just as a precaution). Reboot. Then try your printer install again.
