Question

Reset procedure for HP PSC 1500

Asked by: royalm

I have a psc 1500 printer that is "stuck" on.  It will not shut down with the power button, and when unplugged and replugged, it is on immediately.  All cables are correct and tight, all USB ports work.

I can't remember the console button procedure to try resetting to factory default.  Can anyone help?

Thanks
royalm

I guess the firmware is damaged !! try to contact HP if they have a firmware upgrade for it.

and if this printer has a LPT port support try to connect it to the computer with one. if not try to get a USB 2 LPT cable ... just for test purpose.

Hi folks,

I can't check the switch...I don't have an ohmmeter.  Besides, the printer isn't worth that much.

I will check for the firmware upgrade, thanks.

Sorry everyone, we just went out and bought another printer for my friend.  She didn't want to deal with all the "fix tries", so we now have a new one.

Thanks for all the ideas, sorry I couldn't use any of them.

i suppose when a person politely asks you to do something (with the word PLEASE) it can hardly be looked at as shouting

also - if you use the EE site, you are supposed to have read the help files, to know how everything works

i've looked up for you what you did not find : closing questions; here your options :
