Question

Canon printer 64-bit drivers

Asked by: Won2Ok

My new system has a 64-bit motherboard and Windows Home Premium 64-bit operating system. Canon does not have drivers for a number of my printers, including LBP 3200 and 3000 laser printers.

I cannot find any information about emulators for these printers.

Any clues about where to look for emulating drivers or other workaround?

Below is a link for the LBP 3200 64 bit drivers.  zdnet is usually pretty good about actually being what their description says it is.
http://downloads.zdnet.com/abstract.aspx?docid=553019

And zdnet asia says here are the drivers for the 3000:
http://www.zdnetasia.com/downloads/pc/swinfo/0,39043052,50002366r-39514674s,00.htm

If those don't work, you're probably in the same boat as many of the HP users with older printers - no 64-bit drivers, and no plans for their release.

Best of luck.

michko,

Thanks for the suggestion, however, I have not been able to download either of these drivers. Neither pages can be found.

You're right.  Not sure why the download pages from zdnet give a no page found error, but they do.

The lbp3200 driver I found directly from canon on their asia site:
http://support-sg.canon-asia.com/contents/SG/EN/0900787501.html

The lbp3000 driver I also found on a canon asia site:
http://support-my.canon-asia.com/contents/MY/EN/0900786301.html

I was able to get them both to download, so they should be good from your end.

I guess its a new printer for the new machine!

Thanks anyway.

Could you provide more detail on your request to close this question with no points awarded?

I provided additional links where those drivers are available - directly from canon.

Were you still not able to download the drivers?  I could download, zip them, and post them for you.

Alternatively - if these drivers don't work - then please refer to my first post.

Thank you.

The second suggestion you made are for the standard 32-bit drivers from Canon which do not work on the 64-bit machine. They are the same drivers available from any of the Canon sites. That is the reason I posted the question in the first place.

The page links referenced in your first suggestion, as you indicated, do not work.

Thanks for your attempts, albeit without result.

They are the exact same file name as those identified as 64 bit drivers.

As stated in my first post - if those don't work then you're in the same position as many owners of older HP models - no 64 bit available, and no plans to develop any.
