It happens for any document, even printing test pages.
I can try the PostScript, but I'm confused why it would work with PCL for other users, if that would be the case?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have a user with a xerox printer using driver "Xerox Global Print Driver PCL6". One day, without any changes being made to her computer or to the printer or printer server, she began getting the following error message when trying to print.
An unexpected error occured in the print driver.
Close the current driver window and retry the operation.
If she clicks Ok or Cancel, the error message pops back up several times. Also, after trying to print, the printer will printer nearly 100 pages of "code" as she describes it... I'm assuming it's just a bunch of symbols, not any kind of text.
Other users can still print to the printer. The printer is hosted on Server 2003 Std. Ed SP2. The user is using XP SP3 (as well as the users who can print to it).

This is a typical corrupted printer driver. On her local machine, go to printers and faxes. Delete the print "queue". Next go to File> Server Properties> Drivers tab. Remove the "Xerox Global Printer Driver" You may get a error that it is still in use. If that occurs, go to a command prompt and run "net stopspooler" then run "net startspooler" and try again, this can also be done through "services". If the corruption is something related to bi-directional printing you may need to restart and try again.
