Browse All TopicsHi folks, I got a new laptop with ActivIdentity software installed on it. I also got the usb key called ActivIdentity. The problem is when I insert the key, there is no detection of the key. The software still says - "ActivClient agent No smart card".
ActiveClient software version is 6.1.3.98. I reinstalled the software but was of no use.
When I insert the usb key, a red led glows for a fraction and switches off. As per the manual it is supposed to glow blinking red and then turn green.
I need the activKey to connect via VPN.

This may be an ActivClient setting issue. Sometimes, the software will auto detect a reader even if no card is present. (With the USB key inserted) Go to ActivClient, click on File->Use Reader. Is the USB drive present and selected? If it is not selected, do so now.
Once you are able to select it, go to Tools->Advanced->Make Certificates Available to Windows. This will allow applications to actually use the certificates.
Is it even listed as a reader when the USB drive is inserted? I take it that the USB drive performs as a smart card reader with all of the certificates pre-installed? Hope this works!
