Canon MF8450c good or bad buy?

Looking at buying a Canon MF8450c unit.  Any horror stories or accolades? Small workgroup environment.  Probably less than 1k prints monthly.

I read those, but really was hoping someone had some first hand use.  Do you happen to know of anything else that works.  It's gotta do scan to searchable PDF and all the other normal MFC fucntions well over the network.  I looked at brother/xerox/hp and all the gear seems to fail at the scan to network functionality.  Puts me in a tightspot.
