Asked by DowntownIT in Printers, Windows 2003 Server
I have a Kyocera Taskalfa 400ci copier. I installed the driver on our 2003 print server and loaded the proper drivers. In the driver settings I selected to prompt the user for their job accounting code. To have the clients install the printer, I emailed them a link \\printserver\printer and had them click on it. Most of the users can print normally, but I have several that when prompted for the job accounting code, the PC seems to accept it but on the unit it displays invalid job accounting code. I verified that the code was accurate and tried other valid codes, with the same result. Kyocera produced a deleter program that removes all traces of their driver. I ran this on the users PC thinking it was a corrupt driver. Then I reinstalled the driver on the PC. A few days will go by with the users printing fine, then the same invalid job accounting error will return. I reinstalled the driver on the print server and even switched to a different serve,r both didnt help. I was looking for some advice on how to further troubleshoot / resolve these issues as the maintenance company we have a contract with are at a loss.
We are a XP/2003 environment
