Main Topics
Browse All TopicsAt work we use a Canon imageRunner 3570 multifunction for our copying. This unit also has the ability to print so I found the drivers and installed them, then I sent a job to it and the job did not print. The job log on the copier shows that the job was received but not printed with response code NG. Does anyone know what the NG means?
I have looked everywhere online for a solution but unfortunately the manual is not published online and nobody else seems to be having a similar problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated... I know this question does not fit the usual categories for this site but as I said, I have tried everywhere else.
Thanks

I assume you are using a Standard TCP/IP port on the PC. Go to "Configure Port" under the Ports tab in printer Properties. Check that the port is set to "Raw".
It is also possible that printing has been disabled on the machine itself. Type its IP address into your internet browser, and see if you can enable it - you may need passwords to change its settings though.
Once the license file was added by the bendor, i went fomr no print to printing:

If you use the Canon UFRII Printer driver then it will work for most windows printing issues. If you need to use the PCL5/6 or PS drivers then you will need the additional licenses for the copier/multifunction device. Cost is around $500.00 list for each additional driver option. The UFRII Driver is available from Canon's website or from the CD that shipped with the device.
I've worked with two Canon Image Runner's and indeed there is some magic switch that only the dealer can throw, and at great cost I might add.
Once you assign the IP, you can browse and do pretty much anything over the LAN, EXCEPT print. What a nuisance. And of course, Canon has no info on it's public site telling you this. So the dealer can take you to the cleaners.
Just fixed this problem on a Canon 3570. We used to have department ID management set up under printer options on the server. I was moving the printers to a new server and when I installed the driver this time around I turned it off in the security options.
So any print jobs were going to the copier as unknown ID (which was what we now wanted) but in the photocopier admin settings it had Department ID management set to on and it was therefore not printing jobs without ID. Turned the department ID management off and the printing is now working.

oh and I am printing over ethernet, not USB. Although I don't think it makes much of a difference as long as the unit receives the job
