Todays KVM over IP gives almost real time video and mouse tracking when connecting form he cooperate office network.
Talk a look at Minicom KVM ip products: http://www.minicom.com/kvm
The mouse lagging is actually the video image of the mouse that is been captured and redrawn on the screen, and been effected by the network bandwidth you have available. here are several tips how you can improve the mouse tracking speed.
1. Remove desktop background images,
2. On low bandwidth connection set the KvmIP to capture 256 colors (instead of 16 or 32 bit) it will reduce the amount of data require to be transferred
3. Make sure that your KVM cables does not pass closely to EMC interference sources (such as power supplies) they will reflect noise to the video image and the KVMiP works all time to clean them..
