Browse All TopicsI have a Trust Imagery 1200 SP scanner which I initially used with my older computer (486 DX/2) Wndows 95 and it works fine. I bought a new computer a Carrera system with Pentium III, 500 Mhz with 512 k cache, 128 Mb RAM, 10 Gb hard disk etc, and Windows 98.
The problem is that when I try to use the scanner with my new computer I can't get the computer to recognise the scanner at all. I've tried different slots for the SCSI interface card, tried different ID settings numbers on the back of the scanner and tried changing the switches for setting the I/O address on the interface card. There might be conflicts on some of these settings but not all of them!. I've even tried using the latest drivers but as the system does not recognise the hardware then this is a little pointless.
Any ideas on what else I could do to make the scanner work with my new computer? When I put the interface card back in the old computer and reconnect, the scanner works fine!
(I tried the help desk of Trust, which promises a response within 24 hours, but that was a month ago and I'm still waiting!!)
Many thanks for any suggestions.

Asuming your SCSI-card isn't working:
In your bios, is there any setting where you can change the bus-speed of your pci - slots?
If you can, try to make it a bit slower. (i don't know the proper settings, but i thought 33 mhz would be fine, consult toms hardware guide for it)
Try the SCSI - card in your old pc. Does it still work there? if not, you might have damaged it during installation in your new pc. Also check if its properly installed in its slot.
If working on 486, but not in pentium, and fist suggestion doesn't work, concider your scsi card incompatible, buy a cheap adaptec adapter (they sell special scanner card, a bit cheaper then the retail stuff).
If the SCSI-card is working, the problem is the scanner, but that seems odd to me. If so, please give some more information, since i assume your SCSI-card isn't working.
