I think that is referring to scanrouter pro (I could be wrong).
Scanrouter lite, which comes free with the ricoh MFPs and scanners, by default has no password.
However, if you are running it at startup, or as a service, if you change the password of the user who installed it, it will fail.It will usually ask you to change the password at the first startup.
