I installed ScanRouter on WXP and worked fine.
I need help to add destination on the Print Device itself.
For instance I added Destination user (myself) on the ScanRouter admin utillity, and from the Print Device I managed to add destination which is myself and scanned/sent to my folder. it worked fine.
I am planning to add a bunch of users so that they can send to scanned documents to their folder, but it seems like I can't figure out how to do it from the Ricoh Aficio 1515MF
any help?
thanks
It is not possible to add users from the copier when using scanrouter, only from the admin utility. The PC with scanrouter functions as a destination server. It stores all of the delivery information. If it is not switched on the copier cannot scan.
You can scan to a folder on the scanrouter PC, but not to a network drive, all destinations are local. (Microsoft blocked dcom redirection in XP and later).
Later models allow direct scan to SMB, the 1515 is limited to email and scanrouter.
You can change the default destination between delivery server (scanrouter) and email, in the user tools.
Just to clarify, the machine can store email destinations, but it needs Scanrouter to store folder destinations.
This was a way of getting around username / password problems.
Later models can store a windows usernames and passwords to access SMB shares.
The 1515 can only store one username and password, for SMTP (email) authentication.
You can change the default destination list between delivery server (scanrouter) and email, in the user tools.
Scanrouter on windows 2000 could save to network drives (had to be a folder in one, not the root) Microsoft blocked that in XP and later, if I remember correctly.
One way around this is to use a tool like foldmonkey

Oh, and port 3670 on the firewall needs to be open.
In the Scanrouter server I can create multiple Destination/Sender.
But when I go to Ricoh Aficio 1515MF I am not sure if all I can use is one sender name and one destination folder. I hope there is an option to create multiple sender names and multiple destinations.
Because it doesn't make sense if user1 needs to scan a confidential document and send it to his/her own folder it should go to that folder, how do you sepcify this on the Ricoh Aficio 1515MF panel?
On the 1515, there are 16 buttons. Each of these can be linked to a destination in scanrouter, by using the save as a windows file option, each can be directed to a different folder. Unfortunately, they must all be on the Scanrouter server PC.
Flipping the button mask adds another 16 destinations, or a total of 32.
Destinations can be specified as sender , destination or both.
The buttons can also be linked to email addresses on the machine, (the default), but you can change the default destination list to "destination server" (which is scanrouter), in the user tools, scanner features..

THANKS A LOT ,IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A BIG PROGRESS ON THIS.
"save as a windows file option" allowed me to add another destination from the Copier.
the one thing I need to fix is, when I scan one document and I push the button to display the Destination list then I select one Destination, and press start to scan and send the document. the document will go through. Then I pick the same document and put it back on the scanner and select a different Destination, and scan it , it will go through also just fine, BUT the issue is the document will go just to one Destination even though I selected each time a separate Destination.
If you walk me through the steps on how to send a document to multiple Destination that will help a lot...
Thanks

HI
first thing its to log in to the copier
open internet explorer, type in the IP address of the copier and then login with the username
sysadm
password is
password
set the ip address of the email server in the config, or set up DNS and use the name.
If you use authentication, you will need to set up the username and password too.
configure email destinations in the address book
