How do I reset my Canon Pixma MP190 ink level indicators

I am using re-filled cartridges on my Canon pixma MP190.  The ink level controlers are flashing and the printer is not working properly.  I lready tried to keep pushed the stop/reset bettom for more that 5 seconds several times but nothing is getting changed.  Is there any way to reset the ink level indicators.
