Question

Video Conference using webcam suggestions

Asked by: goliant

Not my area of expertise.
I have a client who has a boardroom and has regular sales meetings. Some of their sales people are not able to physically be present at the meetings so the client wants to use the webcam and dedicated laptop in the boardroom to host a video conference and or webinar.

It could be 5,10 or 20 people attending video conference. Powerpoint presentations are a staple of the sales meetings. Occasional speaker presentations

Webex only supports 6 webcam connections.

Questions I have are:
What webinar or other software supports having many connections to the host?

Thank you for any suggestions you may have.

Brian

So you are wanting to have a camera on each person in the meeting?

by: Anthony1982Posted on 2009-11-06 at 13:15:07ID: 25763117

https://www.gotomeeting.com would allow you to share desktops so you could view their Powerpoint presentations. Also if they have their camera turned on you could see them on the screen.

To clarify. One camera in the boardroom. The people in the boardroom do not want to see the remote salespeople.

The remote sales people will want to see the presenter. I am trying to find out if a program like gotomeeting supports having multiple people (approx 15) connecting to the boardroom with a webcam and audio.

One host many guests. The guests want to see the presenter but not vice versa.

Sorry if I am not making sense.

Seriously? No one has done this?

I called gotomeeting today and they can not "stream video" as they put it. Its all Lies i tell you!

I find it hard to believe (most likely because I do not know better) that I cannot easily find a paid software that will allow 15 people to join a hosted "webinar" or similiar and see w webcam or powerpoint presentation.

Anyone?

I believe you are misunderstanding your WebEx license. The allowing of 6 webcam connections means that you can have 6 cameras on the screen at one time, but you can have more than 6 people in the meeting viewing 1 (or up to 6) camera streams. From my knowledge of WebEx, you should be able to do what you want with their Meeting Center version.

There are a few other providers that offer a similar service as well. GoToMeeting is not one of them as they do not support video streaming.

Good luck,

Anthony
