Adaptec AVA-1505 drivers for Win Me

I want to use a CD-Changer on a Win ME machine. I am using a Adaptec AVA-1505/1515 SCSI Host Adapter. I looked for the drivers but I only found the ones for Win 95. I installed the drivers but the CD-changer is not responding. I would like to know if the drivers for Win 95 are compatible with Win ME. If not, where can I get the correct drivers?

There is an AVA-1505 driver included with Windows ME, though that is really meant for a specific model of the 1505, and there are several models. If it wasn't manually detected, you could try forcing the driver included with Windows to be installed for that device and see what happens.

The Win95 drivers likely won't work properly because of changes in the driver model, but I'd say it's at least worth a shot if you have a good backup and/or employ the System Restore feature.

ISA cards are tough under ME, I'm afraid, and with several different models of the 1505/1515 out there, you may have one that isn't compatible. There are indeed certain models that are able to work and be properly detected by ME, though Adaptec's site isn't very specific, nor is Microsoft's HCL.

You may try to change some options in the board´s BIOS.
Change the Plug ´n Pray options to *MANUALLY* and give
IRQ 11 and ADRESS DC00.(Preferred by Adaptec Controllers)
Set IRQ 11 (or what the BIOS takes) to ISA.
Then set *Reset Options* to enabled. Save and boot again.
Hope it will help.

When I had noticed my fault
I posted my excuse at *sysexpert*
It had been my first day on board
and I clicked the wrong buttons.
So, once again:

What else can I do more?
