RIS image fails due to network drivers
Computer is a Dell Optiplex GX260.
I have setup a RIS server and made 2 images, one with standard 2k pro & one with our inhouse software on.
When I have booted the computer from the nic it displays the setup for RIS, but I get the following message.
"The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers for your network adapter. Try selecting a different operating system image."
I have been to the microsoft knowledge base about this and have created $oem$ dir on the image which contains the drivers needed.
The only other suggestion I have seen is to upgrade the bios but the Dell bios does not give boot from a:\ option. And the Bios says the nic has pxe enabled.
I have also changed the .sif file on image to say
[Unattended]
OemPreinstall = yes
OemPnpDriversPath = \Drivers\Nic\Win2k
Anyone got any ideas??? I have been working on this for a while now and need to resolve it asap.

i'm at home at the mo. i'll get back to you when I've had a look.
Hmm, I haven't looked in the 260's BIOS too much, but on prior Dells you could add/remove devices from the boot list....the on-screen instructions should indicate how to do it.

Dont know what caused this but looks like it was a problem caused by the server. Got a brand new dell poweredge 400sc and it worked like a charm. thanks for all your suggestions though,
